Maren Aberle was born, raised and makes her home in the Pacific Northwest. An avid skier, cyclist, hiker, and teacher, she has spent most of her life exploring the natural beauty of the Washington Cascades, San Juan Islands, the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, and Western British Columbia. An early interest in photography was inspired by her father, who chronicled family life through still and motion photography. Pictures from many family trips show Maren as a child peering through the viewfinder. Maren’s love for the outdoors, her role as an educator, and her active lifestyle inspire her work as a photographer. In portrait work she takes the time to connect with people in a way that enables her to see and capture their best image. Her landscapes are pure and unfiltered – honest reflections of the beauty that surrounds us.
